OVUC to Host UCW Spring Rally – The Valley Presbyterial Spring Rally will be hosted at Orchard Valley United on May 9, by the Orchard Valley and Wolfville Units. Theme: Who We Are. Registration is 9:30 am with refreshments. The Program begins at 10:00 am. We are pleased to have as our special speaker, Judy Norton. We are also pleased to have Betty Rockwell at the piano. Please note that it will be a “bag lunch”. Your lunch can be placed in the fridge for the morning. During lunch time, you will have an opportunity to mingle with old friends and visit the Book Display with Anne Cameron. The afternoon will include a sing-a-long and the Memorial Service for ladies who have passed during 2017. All women of the congregation are invited. Car Rally, Saturday, May 5! – Get your team together: 4 sets of eyes are better. You will need a car, a full gas tank and a cell phone. Bring something for the potluck lunch. Registration 9:00 am at Orchard Valley. Teams are sent out at regulated intervals with instructions and questions to fill in. Rally takes about 1½–2 hours. We return to the church for lunch. Tea and Memories – The Staff of the Kentville Branch of the Annapolis Valley Regional Library invite the former United Church congregation of St. Paul & St Stephen to attend a Tea, Sunday, April 22, 2–3pm. Maritime Conference United Church Men’s Spring Rally – Amherst, Saturday, April 21. All Men of OVUC are invited to attend this event. We will car pool from our Church. Registration forms are available in the foyer. Cost is $45, or $40 if you register before April 15. Registration includes Turkey Dinner for lunch plus materials when you arrive. Senior Men’s Luncheon – All retired and semi-retired gentlemen are most cordially invited to our next Luncheon on Friday, May 11th at noon. Our speaker will be Marcy MacPherson who will speak to us about “Living, Loving and Learning through Dementia Together”. Dementia, in its many forms, directly affects almost all of us. Y’All Come to Supper – The next Y’All Come to Supper will be on Tuesday, April 24. The meal will be from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. The main course will be lasagna; dessert will be cherry cheesecake.
